About the Journal

"Aspects of Historical Musicology" is the publication of peer-reviewed research articles that contain original scientific results from the specialty "002 Culture and art".

The aim of the present scientific journal is to publish articles, reports and reviews the topics of which are focused on a wide range of studies of musical culture in its genesis as well is in its development and current state, publication of research findings, including dissertations in the field of ‘Music Art’ (025), promotion of art science and education, implementation of scientific and educational programs, dissemination of scientific knowledge about the art of music. Priority is given to the manuscripts which offer new approaches to consideration of well-known phenomena of music art and explore new sources or reveal new issues.

The journal is designed for researchers, a wide range of scholars and young people studying in the field of 'Music Art'.

Articles are accepted in Ukrainian and English and should be prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines.

History of the Journal
Founded in 1998.
Certificate of State Registration КВ № 23370 – 13210 ПР dated 24.05.2018.

The publication is included in category “B” of the “List of Scientific Professional Publications of Ukraine” in the field of art history (specialty 025, В5 – Musical Art), order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 420 dated April 19, 2021.

By Decision No. 1500 of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting dated May 09, 2024 (protocol No. 15), the scientific publication “Aspects of Historical Musicology” received registration as a subject in the field of printed media, was entered into the Register and received the identifier R30-02499

Publication Frequency and Fees
The journal is published 4 times a year. The materials are published after the approval of the issue for printing by the decision of the Academic Council of Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts. Publication in the collection of research papers "Aspects of Historical Musicology" is free of charge. The journal does not charge a fee for processing, reviewing and publishing articles. At the same time, authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board do not receive any fees.
